Getting there

Alice Springs has direct air services from Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Cairns with the majority of flights arriving late morning and departing early afternoon. It is important to book your flights early.

Delegates will not be able to take in the full Convention unless they book to stay the extra night on the Thursday, Convention organisers are planning a special cost recovery dinner at Ooramina Cattle Station on the Thursday evening. Read about this function within the Social Program pages on this site.

Alice Springs Airport is situated approximately 14 kilometres (15 minute drive) from the city centre and regular shuttle bus services depart from the airport for the city centre. Shuttle fares can vary but start at $14 one way and can be pre-booked by phoning +61 (8) 8953 0310.

For those with a little more time, enjoy a historic train journey on the legendary Ghan with twice weekly services to both Adelaide and Darwin. Make your trip to the Convention a special holiday to enjoy.

The town has a network of bicycle paths for you to explore. Jump on a dot painted mountain bike with an Aboriginal guide or hire a bike from your hotel reception. Short early morning bike rides will be organised for delegates within the Convention Program. More information on this shortly.
